About Levites Care Ministries

Levites Care Ministries (LCM) is a nonprofit faith based organization dedicated to uplifting and supporting the worn-out servants of God within churches that serve with selfless devotion. Our mission is to provide resources, guidance, and encouragement to church ministers, leaders, and volunteers, enabling them to fulfill their divine calling with renewed passion and effectiveness.

As Levites Care Ministries (LCM) we aim to serve those who serve in churches. These devoted servants, the heartbeat of the congregation, pour out their hearts in prayer, counsel, and guidance, yet their own struggles often go unnoticed amidst the intensity of their ministry. They are the Levites of our time, entrusted with the sacred duty of nurturing spirits and kindling hope, yet who tends to their own hearts when the burdens become too heavy to bear? It is a question that resonates with the echoes of countless prayers, calling us to pause, to listen, and to extend the same love and compassion to those who selflessly devote themselves to the service of others. For in caring for those who care, we embrace the true essence of Christian love and fellowship, nurturing the very souls who nurture us.

Senior Pastor, Founder & Director

PR. JOANNA LUGGYA

Pr. Joanna Luggya was born into a dysfunctional family with no religious foundation, where her parents were preoccupied with their work and personal lives. They left her in the care of her uncles and grandparents, who also failed to provide the love and attention she needed, creating a deep void in her life. She always felt alone, unloved, and abandoned by her own parents, who only contributed financial support, leaving her emotionally neglected. This void persisted into her youth, leading her to seek love and care from others. Without proper parental guidance, she made numerous mistakes as a youth.

Joanna was so determined to break the cycle of abandonment she experienced from her parents, so she raised her 5 children to the best of her abilities as a single mother. Yearning for a greater purpose and aspiring to have an identity beyond being just a mother, she was captivated by a pastor’s teaching about Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for humanity’s sins on TV.

This message resonated deeply with her, prompting her to visit Kansanga Miracle Center Church, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Determined to learn more about her newfound faith, Joanna enrolled in the church’s Bible School, where she finally felt a sense of belonging. Over the next few years, she became one of the Bible teachers at the church and joined the choir as well, fully immersing herself in church activities.

Joanna served faithfully for 15 years at Kansanga Miracle Center, but her journey was not without challenges. Just a couple of years into her service, her husband left the country for work abroad, leaving Joanna with the sole responsibility of providing for their five children. She faced immense struggles with medical bills, food, rent, and school fees. In an attempt to support her family, Joanna tried starting a business and finding a job, but during this time, she had a divine encounter

The Lord appeared to Joanna in a vision, instructing her to return to the church and continue her service. Trusting in God’s word, Joanna left her job and devoted herself fully to church service as a Bible teacher and choir member. Miraculously, just as God had promised, her children were cared for through the kindness and generosity of others. After 15 years of dedicated service, Joanna was ordained at a local fellowship in Entebbe City by her Senior Pastor to start her own ministry. By God’s grace, this small fellowship blossomed into a thriving church community known as Levites Care Church.

In 2018, drawing from her own experiences and the challenges she faced as a servant of God, Joanna founded Levites Care Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering God’s servants in churches, just as she had been. Her organization has done numerous missions in African countries like Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and Botswana, tirelessly empowering God’s servants in churches across the Continent through the Levites Capacity Transformation Program.

Joanna resides in Kampala, Uganda happily married to her Husband with their five children who wholeheartedly serve God within Levites Care Ministries, their family embodies the spirit of Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Who We Are

Mercy Nalugwa

Welfare Manager & Mission Chef

Mercy, a single mother, grew up in a devout Christian family, firmly believing that she would start a family after marriage, just as her faith taught her. However, her life took a dramatic and unexpected turn when she found herself pregnant before marriage, with the child’s father unwilling to take responsibility. This unforeseen situation threw her into fear and uncertainty, leaving her to wonder how she would provide for her child without a husband or a stable income. Overwhelmed by waves of regret, confusion, and guilt, Mercy instinctively turned to her strong Christian upbringing for solace and guidance.

In the midst of tearful prayers, she sought the Lord for comfort and peace. During one of these heartfelt sessions, she heard a voice instructing her to change her prayers, assuring her that they had been answered and that she should not worry. Trusting in this divine message, Mercy decided to leave all her worries in God’s hands and serve Him with a devoted heart, confident that He would provide for her needs.

And indeed, God provided for her and her child through the support of various people and work opportunities. Once lost and afraid of the future, Mercy found that the Lord was with her throughout her journey as a single mother. Today, she uses her cooking skills to prepare food for team members during missions and also handles the welfare department, serving God with unwavering faith and gratitude.

Nakibuuka Jessca

Mission Chef

In her early years of finding Christ, Nakibuuka was a devout Christian who had genuine love to serve God but didn’t know how to. She is a single mother of two with four grandchildren who had to be taken of and so she worked a job and farmed to provide for her family. Because of her deep sense of Love and Care for those in need, she provided food from her farm to the youths in the neighborhoods who were struggling to make a living

In the midst of all this, she still wondered ‘’how can I serve God?’’ The answer would find her at work during a Christian fellowship where she heard a testimony from the teachings of Pastor Joanna Luggya, Senior Pastor, Levites Care Ministries, who talked about the possibilities of serving God. The testimony left her touched and with answers to her lifelong question as a follower of Christ so she joined Levites Care Ministries.

Levites Care Ministries (LCM) being an organization that cares for God’s Servants she had found a place that resonates well with her caring heart for people. And Now She serves God by expressing her genuine love and care to the mission team members by providing food and creating a homely environment that enables team members to serve well with effectiveness during our Missions

Lubega Livingstone

Deacon & Facilitator

Lubega was born into a family deeply entrenched in witchcraft and demonic rituals, where quick, tangible results were the norm. Whether it was wealth or healing, the dark arts always provided but at a massive and burdensome cost. The weight of serving Satan, with its dire consequences and sacrifices, began to wear heavily on him.

His life took a pivotal turn when he encountered Pastor Joanna’s teachings about Christ’s love and peace at a fellowship at Country Lake Resort. Despite being drawn to the message, Lubega hesitated, not wanting to forfeit the manifestations he received through demonic rituals. The decisive moment came in a dream where Christ challenged him to choose between serving Satan or Christ. On Satan’s side were worldly pleasures, but Christ’s side radiated light, peace, and freedom. Remembering the heavy toll of blood sacrifices, including the loss of family members, Lubega chose Christ’s side.

From that day, the dark powers left him, and Lubega embarked on his journey to serve God. He joined the ministry and discovered that manifestations of wealth and health were abundant on God’s side as well. This revelation deepened his contentment and commitment to God’s service. Now, Lubega is an active member of the ministry, preaching the word of God during our missions and continually learning about Jesus Christ as he shares his transformative experience with others.

Kawooya Umar

Deacon & Facilitator

Born in a muslim family, Kawooya was a devoted muslim. He was orphaned at a young age and so he lived with his uncles and aunties till adulthood. Kawooya struggled with feelings of abandonment and loneliness, constantly searching for a sense of belonging and love.

One time at school, he came across Scripture Union, a fellowship that shared the word of God. Captured by the message of Jesus Christ’s love and sacrifice, Kawooya accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. As a Muslim turned Christian, Kawooya experienced more rejection and criticism from his family relatives but this didn’t shake him, he remained Christian, constantly searching for his true purpose in Christ.

After his High School studies, Kawooya returned home and continued to look for a church that would help him find his true purpose. For days he walked passed a church called Levites Care Church listening closely to the word which was mostly about finding your calling in Christ. He was captured by the message and eventually joined the church which helped him fully discover his Gift of teaching the word. The church became his new family, now he is an active member who helps teach the Word of God during missions.

Lutalo Mark Jordan

Mission Coordinator

Lutalo was born in a Christian family but as Life progressed he became absorbed in his career and personal ambitions, slowly drifting away from his Faith. He prioritized material success over his relationship with Christ but the turning point came in when he got diagnosed with Pneumonia at the beginning of 2022.

At first he thought it was a normal illness that would pass after a few medications but that wasn’t the case. The illness persisted after all kinds of medications he could afford which shattered him emotionally throwing him into an overwhelming sense of Hopelessness and Fear. Having a Christian background, he knew he had to seek the LORD for comfort and healing. He sought the Lord through daily prayers, fellowshipping and reading the word of God.

In the midst of his journey back to Christ, the illness persisted and so he prayed ‘’Lord Father, spare my Life because am still important to you, Spare my life oh Lord and I will use it to serve you and Glorify your name.’’ In 2023, he joined Church ministry and was aboard the mission to Rwanda. During this mission, he received total deliverance and experienced no signs of Pneumonia like difficulty in breathing or coughing, the illness had miraculously disappeared from his Life because he had fulfilled his end of the bargain; that is Serving God. And now he is a living testimony that our Lord Christ heals those who seek and serve him.

During this time, Esther made the lifechanging decision to accept Christ, a choice that initially caused some tension between her and her parents, who were rooted in their Anglican traditions.

Despite the challenges, Esther’s commitment to her newfound faith only grew stronger. She was determined to find her purpose within the Pentecostal community and sought a church where she could truly belong. After completing her studies, Esther moved to Entebbe City for a job opportunity. There, she discovered Levites Care Church, a place that immediately resonated with her. Watching the tug-of-war between religion, witchcraft, and sheer hard work, Matovu felt a deep desire to break free and carve out his own unique identity, one rooted in true devotion and authenticity.

His life took a transformative turn when his Born-Again Christian aunty preached to him, sharing her testimony of God’s peace and prosperity. Captivated by her words, Matovu accepted Christ. Seeking a fresh start, he moved to Kampala and discovered Levites Care Ministries, a Christ-centered community that showed him success in Christ doesn’t require a strong educational background or wealthy family background.

In her dream, she saw a long line of people walking towards a dark abyss (Hell).God spoke to her in the dream, telling her that she was meant to save those souls from this path and warning her that she would be nothing if she did not serve Him.

This newfound sense of belonging spurred him to become an active member of the church ministry. The unwavering love and care from the pastor solidified his commitment, leading him to serve faithfully for many years.

One night, God appeared to Jamiru in a dream, instructing him to move on and start a new chapter of service. This divine message created tension between him and his pastor, who was reluctant to let him leave his position. Despite the conflict, Jamiru chose to follow God’s guidance and left the church.
